The 33rd Golden Raspberry Awards, or Razzies, was a parodic award ceremony that identified the worst films the film industry had to offer in 2012, according to votes from members of the Golden Raspberry Foundation. Razzies co-founder John J. B. Wilson has stated that the intent of the awards is "to be funny."{{cite web |url=https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/davidmack/razzie-awards-12-year-old-worst-actress-ryan-kiera-armstrong |title=The Razzies Responded After Being Slammed for Nominating a 12-Year-Old for "Worst Actress" |last=Mack |first=David |work=BuzzFeed News |date=January 24, 2023 |access-date=January 25, 2023 |archive-date=January 25, 2023 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20230125000357/https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/davidmack/razzie-awards-12-year-old-worst-actress-ryan-kiera-armstrong |url-status=live}} Nominations were revealed on January 8, 2013.{{cite web|title=Vote For the Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel|url=http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/robot_monster_in_3d/news/1926557/vote_for_the_worst_remake_rip-off_or_sequel/|work=Rotten Tomatoes|publisher=Flixster|access-date=January 9, 2013|date=December 26, 2012}}{{cite web|last=Bibbiani|first=William|title=The 33rd Annual Razzies (Dis)-Honor Twilight: Breaking Dawn: Part 2|url=http://www.craveonline.com/film/articles/202737-the-33rd-annual-razzie-nominations-dishonors-twilight-saga-breaking-dawn-part-2|publisher=CraveOnline.com|access-date=January 9, 2013|date=January 8, 2013}}{{cite web|title=RAZZIE NOMINATIONS for 2012|url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKhqGLGZv6M|publisher=YouTube|date=January 8, 2013}} Unlike the previous year, when the winners were announced on April Fools' Day, the winners were announced on February 23, one day before the Academy Awards ceremony, reverting to Razzie tradition.
