__NOTOC__

Year 364 (CCCLXIV) was a leap year starting on Thursday of the Julian calendar. At the time, it was known as the Year of the Consulship of Augustus and Varronianus (or, less frequently, year 1117 Ab urbe condita). The denomination 364 for this year has been used since the early medieval period, when the Anno Domini calendar era became the prevalent method in Europe for naming years.{{Cite journal |last=Wacholder |first=Ben Zion |date=2001 |title=Calendar Wars Between the 364 and the 365-Day Year |url=https://www.jstor.org/stable/24663055 |journal=Revue de Qumrân |volume=20 |issue=2 (78) |pages=207–222 |jstor=24663055 |issn=0035-1725}}{{Cite journal |last=ZADOK |first=Ran |date=1989-01-01 |title=Notes on the Historical Geography of Mesopotamia and Northern Syria |url=http://dx.doi.org/10.2143/anes.27.0.2012496 |journal=Ancient Near Eastern Studies |volume=27 |pages=154–169 |doi=10.2143/anes.27.0.2012496 |issn=1378-4641|url-access=subscription }}
