73 Armoured Regiment is an armoured regiment of the Indian Army.

Formation

The 73 Armoured Regiment has the unique distinction of being raised during wartime, being formed on 3 December 1971,{{cite web|url=https://www.tribuneindia.com/2011/20111128/main5.htm|title='Prez honours 5 armoured corps regiments' in 'The Tribune'|date=2011-11-28|access-date=2020-11-01}} the day the Indo-Pak war broke out. History

Equipment

The Regiment was equipped with the T-55 tanks at raising. It is now equipped with the T-90 tanks.

Operations

Regimental Insignia

The Regiment’s crest comprises crossed lances with the Sheesh Kavach of the legendary Prithviraj Chauhan and a scroll at the base. The Regimental colours are Purple and Black.
