Absolute World is a residential condominium twin tower skyscraper complex in the five-tower Absolute City Centre development in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.{{cite web|title=Absolute Towers|url=http://www.designbuild-network.com/projects/absolutetowers/|publisher=Design Build Network}} The project was built by Fernbrook Homes and Cityzen Development Group. With the first three towers completed (Absolute City Centre 1 and 2 and Absolute Vision), the last two towers (Absolute World 4 and 5) were topped off at 50 and 56 storeys. The complex's twin towers are nicknamed the "Marilyn Monroe Towers" due to their sinuous shape and design.

Background

In 2004, an international design competition was held to select the architect for the fourth tower for Absolute World. Yansong Ma, founder of the MAD office, Beijing/China architectural design firm was announced the winner. Sales were to start in May 2007 with construction beginning later that year, and anticipated completion in 2009. Within days of the announcement, the taller building had been nicknamed the "Marilyn Monroe" tower due to its curvaceous, hourglass figure likened to actress Marilyn Monroe. Burka Varacalli Architects, a Toronto firm, was hired as MAD's local partner in April 2007.{{cite web | url = https://constructionreviewonline.com/projects/absolute-world-the-marilyn-monroe-towers/ | access-date = 7 January 2021 | title = Absolute Towers – The Marilyn Monroe Towers | date = 29 August 2014 | website = Construction Review Online | publisher = Group Africa Publishing}}

On June 14, 2012, the Chicago-based Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), a non-profit group of architects and engineers, reported that the towers were among the world's best new skyscrapers.{{cite news | author=Katherine Dunn | title='Marilyn Monroe' towers in Mississauga among world's best new skyscrapers | url= https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/marilyn-monroe-towers-in-mississauga-among-world-s-best-new-skyscrapers/article_860d1121-ba10-5898-9b2f-40acd4b4f5c1.html | work=The Toronto Star | date=14 June 2012 | access-date=15 June 2012}} The building would also win the Emporis Skyscraper Award in 2012.{{cite web |title=Emporis Skyscraper Award 2012 |url=https://www.emporis.com/awards/2012 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20130927140441/http://www.emporis.com/awards/2012 |url-status=usurped |archive-date=September 27, 2013 |publisher=Emporis |access-date=August 17, 2020}}

The larger of the two towers twists 209 degrees from the base to the top, making it very similar to Turning Torso in Malmö, Sweden.{{cite web | title=Engineering the voluptuous |url= https://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/home-and-garden/real-estate/engineering-the-voluptuous/article1813438/ | work=The Globe and Mail | date=2010-11-25 |access-date=2011-06-07}} The structural design was done by Sigmund Soudack & Associates Inc, a Toronto-based structural engineering firm. The tower has six levels of underground parking.{{cite web | title=Glazing underway at Absolute World Tower Four condos in Mississauga, Ontario | url=http://dcnonl.com/article/id37152 | work=Daily Commercial News | date=2010-01-20 | access-date=2011-02-15}}
