Production
The design was built by both Albin Marine and Shipman Sweden AB in Sweden, from 1975 to 1980, with a total of 760 boats completed, but it is now out of production.{{cite web|url = https://sailboatdata.com/builder/albin-marine|title = Albin Marine 1899 -|access-date = 7 December 2020|last = McArthur|first = Bruce|work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2020|archive-url = https://archive.today/20201202001145/https://sailboatdata.com/builder/albin-marine|archive-date = 2 December 2020|url-status = live}}{{cite web|url = https://www.boat-specs.com/sailing/builders/albin-marine|title = Albin Marine|access-date = 7 December 2020|work = Boat-Specs.com|year = 2020|archive-url = https://archive.today/20201202005949/https://www.boat-specs.com/sailing/builders/albin-marine|archive-date = 2 December 2020|url-status = live}}{{cite web|url = https://sailboatdata.com/builder/shipman|title = Shipman|access-date = 7 December 2020|last = McArthur|first = Bruce|work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2020|archive-url = https://archive.today/20201207192930/https://sailboatdata.com/builder/shipman|archive-date = 7 December 2020|url-status = live}}{{cite web|url = https://www.boat-specs.com/sailing/builders/shipman-sweden-ab|title = Shipman Sweden AB|access-date = 7 December 2020|work = Boat-Specs.com|year = 2020|archive-url = https://archive.today/20201207192834/https://www.boat-specs.com/sailing/builders/shipman-sweden-ab|archive-date = 7 December 2020|url-status = live}}
Design
The Accent 26 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fibreglass, with wood trim. It has a masthead sloop rig with aluminum spars, a deck-stepped mast, wire standing rigging and a single set of unswept spreaders. The hull has a raked stem; a raised counter, reverse transom; a skeg-mounted rudder controlled by a tiller and a fixed fin keel. It displaces {{convert|5512|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} and carries {{convert|1962|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} of iron ballast.
The boat has a draft of {{convert|5.05|ft|m|abbr=on}} with the standard keel. It is fitted with a Japanese Yanmar diesel engine of {{convert|8|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} for docking and manoeuvring.
The design has sleeping accommodation for six people, with a double "V"-berth in the bow cabin, an L-shaped settee and a straight settee in the main cabin and two aft quarter berths. There is a drop-leaf table in the main cabin. The galley is located on the starboard side just forward of the companionway ladder. The galley is equipped with a two-burner stove and a double sink. The enclosed head is located just aft of the bow cabin on the starboard side.
The design has a hull speed of {{convert|6.07|kn|km/h|abbr=on}}.
Operational history
The prototype won the 1974 World Quarter Ton class Championships.
