Etymology and genus name
The name A. interruptum refers to the interrupted arrangement of the eyes on the radioles. Acromegalomma interruptum was originally called Megalomma interrupta, however Megalomma is already the name of a genus of beetles, which was described before. Therefore the genus in the family Sabellidae was renamed to Acromegalomma.{{cite journal |last1=Gil |first1=João |last2=Nishi |first2=Eijiroh |title=Nomenclatural checklist for Acromegalomma species (Annelida, Sabellidae), a nomen novum replacement for the junior homonym Megalomma Johansson, 1926 |journal=ZooKeys |date=29 May 2017 |issue=677 |pages=131–150 |doi=10.3897/zookeys.677.12030|pmid=28769691 |pmc=5538001 |bibcode=2017ZooK..677..131G |doi-access=free }}
