Adelbert M. Political career
Adelbert Bryan served as Frederiksted police commander.{{Cite web|title=Retired Officers|url=http://www.vipd.gov.vi/About_Us/History/Retired-Officers.aspx|access-date=2021-12-14|website=www.vipd.gov.vi}} In 1989, he won 35 percent of the vote for USVI Governor.{{Cite web|title=Washingtonpost.com|url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/national/longterm/hurricane/archives/hugo89a.htm|access-date=2021-12-14|website=www.washingtonpost.com}} Bryan has also served as Senator and on the Board of Education.
Personal life
In 1989, Bryan was charged with looting after Hurricane Hugo.
In 1996, Bryan shot and killed his son, Pell.{{Cite web|date=2001-08-27|title=SEN. BRYAN'S SON MURDERED ON ST. In 2001, Bryan's 25-year-old son, Kaunda, was shot and killed in St. Croix.
