Adolph Fürstner

Adolph Fürstner (1833–1908) was a German publisher. He worked as a clerk for Bote & Bock before he founded his own publishing company, 'Fürstner', in Berlin in 1868.{{cite book|last=Kennedy|first=Michael|title=The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Music|url=https://archive.org/details/conciseoxforddic00kenn|url-access=registration|date=22 April 2004|publisher=Oxford University Press|isbn=978-0-19-860884-4|page=[https://archive.org/details/conciseoxforddic00kenn/page/273 273]}} He bought the publishers Gustav Mayer of Leipzig and Meser of Dresden in 1872. In 1900 he formed a contract with Richard Strauss and later published his opera Salome.
