Biography

=Career=

Picardi graduated from the Los Angeles Film School in 2006 at the age of 19 and jumped into the industry as an editor for Television. Picardi continued to pursue his directing career by independently producing his own projects. In 2007, Picardi created a short film called "His Day to Remember," which was the Grand Prize Winner in the Cinematic Film2Music online competition. Using the raw, percussive chant-driven track "Steel & Sky," he created a visually compelling drama about a young man who is apparently a suicide bomber.

The film was also screened at the Sundance Film Festival 2007{{cite web|url=http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0oGdFEd5o9MQBQBBpdXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTE2b2xuY3RhBHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDOTIEY29sbwNzazEEdnRpZANWSVAwMDhfMTc2/SIG=12mrqnmoe/EXP=1284585373/**http://www.kubilayuner.com/media/F2M-SundanceAndWinnersRelease.doc|title=Press Release – "Steel & Sky"}}{{Dead link|date=September 2019 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }} and got him featured on MTVu.com as "Best Filmmaker on Campus" in December 2007.{{cite web|url=https://www.mtv.com|title=New Music Videos, Reality TV Shows, Celebrity News, Pop Culture|publisher=MTV}} Additionally, In 2007, he won the "Audience Award" for Myspace's John Woo Film Tribute contest for the Chow Yun-fat videogame "Stranglehold".{{cite web|url=https://myspace.com/strangleholdgame|title=Stranglehold Stranglehold (strangleholdgame) on Myspace|website=Myspace}}{{Primary source inline|date=December 2019}} For his second short, "His Final Hit", it placed into the top ten finalists of the IFC Film "Assassin's Creed" Film Contest.{{cite web|url=http://medialab.ifc.com/film_list.jsp?p=25|title=IFC Media Lab|access-date=March 4, 2008|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20080219040924/http://medialab.ifc.com/film_list.jsp?p=25|archive-date=February 19, 2008|url-status=dead}}
