Aesopia cornuta is a species of sole native to the Indian and western Pacific Oceans. Its common names include the unicorn sole,{{FishBase |genus= Aesopia|species= cornuta| month = December | year = 2012}} thickray sole, banded sole, and dark thick-rayed sole.{{cite web|url=http://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:biodiversity.org.au:afd.taxon:88851e9c-bc9c-4a5c-81c3-e4b1e1f87047#names|work=Atlas of Living Australia|title=Aesopia cornuta Kaup, 1858: Thickray Sole|accessdate=2016-08-04}} This species grows to a standard length of {{cvt|25|cm|in}}, and is the only known member of its genus.
