The {{lang|cy|Lledr|italic=no}} has its source on the eastern slopes of {{lang|cy|Ysgafell Wen|italic=no}}, which lies about 3 km NE of {{lang|cy|Cnicht|italic=no}}. It initially flows in a north-easterly direction towards {{lang|cy|Blaenau Dolwyddelan|italic=no}}, where {{lang|cy|Ceunant Ty'n y Ddol|italic=no}} joins it, then flows under the Roman Bridge ({{langx|cy|Pont-y-Sarn-Ddu}}) and past {{lang|cy|Dolwyddelan|italic=no}}, where {{lang|cy|Afon Penamnen|italic=no}} joins it. It continues to the north-east past {{lang|cy|Pont-y-Pant|italic=no}} and then east along the Lledr Valley, running parallel to the A470 and the railway line from {{lang|cy|Blaenau Ffestiniog|italic=no}} to {{lang|cy|Llandudno|italic=no}}. This line has stations in the {{lang|cy|Lledr|italic=no}} Valley at Roman Bridge, {{lang|cy|Dolwyddelan|italic=no}}, and {{lang|cy|Pont-y-Pant|italic=no}}. The river joins the River Conwy to the south of {{lang|cy|Betws-y-Coed|italic=no}}.
