Aiki Framework is a PHP and MySQL (LAMP) web application framework that allows designers and programmers to create and work with existing content management systems from the web.{{cite web|first=Bassel |last=Safadi|authorlink=Bassel Khartabil|year= 2010|url=http://bassel.ws/2010/03/open-clip-art-library-2-0-announcement/ |title=Open Clip Art Library 2.0 Powered by Aiki Framework Announced|work=bassel.ws}} The Fabricatorz global production company was its commercial steward and has used it to build Open Clip Art Library 3.0{{cite press release|work=fabricatorz.com |year=2011 |url=http://fabricatorz.com/2011/05/open-clip-art-library-unleashes-version-3-0-collections-favorites-batch-management/ |title=Open Clip Art 3.0 Press Release |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110515082204/http://fabricatorz.com/2011/05/open-clip-art-library-unleashes-version-3-0-collections-favorites-batch-management/ |archivedate=2011-05-15 }} and the now public Open Font Library.{{cite press release|work=fabricatorz.com |year=2011 |url=http://fabricatorz.com/2011/05/launching-the-open-font-library-and-freeing-fonts/ |title=Open Font Library Public Press Release |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110519235109/http://fabricatorz.com/2011/05/launching-the-open-font-library-and-freeing-fonts/ |archivedate=2011-05-19 }}{{cite web|work=Open Clip Art Library Launchpad|year=2011|url=https://launchpad.net/openclipart/+announcement/8351|title=Launchpad Announcement|access-date=2011-05-14|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20121019105736/https://launchpad.net/openclipart/+announcement/8351|archive-date=2012-10-19|url-status=dead}} Both sites using Aiki Framework were publicly announced at Libre Graphics Meeting 2011.
Status
The last release{{Cite web |url=https://launchpad.net/aikiframework/+announcement/9657 |title=Open Clip Art Library 0.9.1 Release |access-date=2013-03-18 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20121021022055/https://launchpad.net/aikiframework/+announcement/9657 |archive-date=2012-10-21 |url-status=dead }} of the software approximately coincided with the March 15, 2012 detainment in Syria of the technology's inventor, Bassel Khartabil. Aiki Framework was for a long time the underlying technology of the Open Clip Art Library and still is for Open Font Library, but the technology was deprecated since 2016 when it was resurrected and put on GitHub.{{Cite web|url=https://github.com/aikiframework/aikiframework|title=Aiki Framework|last=|first=|date=|website=GitHub|language=en|access-date=2018-09-25}} The history of changes was imported to git from last zip file taken from archive.org and controlled by bazaar version control.
Usage
The goal of Aiki Framework is to make a fast system for developing heavily trafficked communities where developers are used to editing source code, but can not directly because of necessary security precautions in running a web server.
