The Aircraft Technologies Acro 1 is an American aerobatic homebuilt aircraft that was designed by Fred Meyer and produced by Aircraft Technologies of Lilburn, Georgia. Design and development
Designed as a high-speed, long-range cross country and aerobatic aircraft, the Acro 1 features a cantilever low-wing, a single-seat enclosed cockpit under a bubble canopy, fixed conventional landing gear and a single engine in tractor configuration. The aircraft is stressed to +/-15g.
The aircraft is made from graphite and fiberglass composites. Its {{convert|20.00|ft|m|1|abbr=on}} span wing has a wing area of {{convert|75.00|sqft|m2|abbr=on}} and has no flaps. The acceptable power range is {{convert|100|to|210|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} and the standard engine used is the {{convert|200|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} Lycoming IO-360 powerplant which gives it a cruise speed of {{convert|220|mph|km/h|abbr=on}}. A fuel capacity of {{convert|47|u.s.gal}} provides a range of {{convert|1000|mi|km|abbr=on}}.
The Acro 1 has an empty weight of {{convert|780|lb|kg|abbr=on}} and a gross weight of {{convert|1250|lb|kg|abbr=on}}, giving a useful load of {{convert|470|lb|kg|abbr=on}}. With full fuel of {{convert|47|u.s.gal}} the payload is {{convert|188|lb|kg|abbr=on}}.
The manufacturer estimates the construction time from the supplied kit as 700 hours.
Operational history
By 1998 the company reported that one example had been flown.
