Work

Zaatari has been exploring issues pertinent to post-war Lebanon. He investigates the way television mediates territorial conflicts and wars, and is particularly interested in logic of religious and national resistance movements, and the circulation and production of images in the context of today's geographic division in the Middle East.{{cite web |url= http://www.leslaboratoires.org/en/artiste/akram-zaatari|title=Le Journal des Laboratoires: Akram Zaatari |author= |date= |publisher=Les Laboratoires |accessdate=20 January 2012}} His work has been widely exhibited worldwide in biennales and venues such as the Centre Pompidou{{cite web |url=http://www.centrepompidou.fr/Pompidou/Manifs.nsf/0/DE2771054AF72DE2C12573220031CE7B?OpenDocument |title=Centre Pompidou – Akram Zaatari |author= |year=2007 |publisher=Centre Pompidou |accessdate=20 January 2012 |archive-date=12 May 2010 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20100512040543/http://www.centrepompidou.fr/Pompidou/Manifs.nsf/0/DE2771054AF72DE2C12573220031CE7B?OpenDocument |url-status=dead }} and is in the permanent collection of museums such as Tate Modern{{cite web |url= http://www.tate.org.uk/servlet/ArtistWorks?cgroupid=999999961&artistid=11598&page=1 |title=tate Collection – Akram Zaatari |author= |date= |publisher=Tate Modern|accessdate=20 January 2012}} and the Thyssen Bornemisza Contemporary.{{cite web|url=http://www.tba21.org/collection/artist/578/artwork/418 |title=Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary |publisher=Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary |accessdate=20 January 2012 |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20121101222949/http://tba21.org/collection/artist/578/artwork/418 |archivedate=1 November 2012 }}
