Release

The album was released on 17 February 2005, by Rotana. For the album's artwork, Laila appeared with a new and youthful look, which she later justified by saying she lost weight while preparing the album, as she told Al-Ahram magazine. The album's artwork caused controversy because Laila removed her last name the cover, something that she later justified this by saying that she wanted to test the audience to know they're opinions about her new music, regardless of her name.{{cite web|access-date=28 December 2023|archive-date=26 December 2023|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20231226213310/https://www.maghress.com/almassae/103729|journal=مغرس|title=ليلى غفران اعترفت بإجرائها عملية تجميل لأنفها ونفت أن تكون قد خسرت 50 ألف دولار في عمليات أخرى|url=https://www.maghress.com/almassae/103729}}

Album reception and departure from Rotana

The album was well received by the public and had very good sales, especially after the tremendous success the album's lead single "Ashalhalak" had. However, Rotana insisted that the album failed to have any commercial success, all while violating the terms of the contract signed between them and Laila. According to the artist, the contract said that the record label should produce three music videos for songs from the album, but they failed to do so and only one music video was shot for the lead single.{{Cite web|url=https://www.aletihad.ae/article/30472/2009/%D9%84%D9%8A%D9%84%D9%89-%D8%BA%D9%81%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86:-%D9%87%D8%B1%D8%A8%D8%AA-%D9%85%D9%86-%D8%B3%D8%AC%D9%86-%C2%AB%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%AA%D8%A7%D9%86%D8%A7%C2%BB-%D9%88%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%A6%D8%AD%D8%A9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B1%D8%B4%D9%88%D8%A9-%D8%AA%D9%81%D9%88%D8%AD--%D9%85%D9%86-%C2%AB%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D9%8A%D9%88%D8%B2%D9%83-%D8%A3%D9%88%D9%88%D8%B1%D8%AF%C2%BB|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20200110135559/https://www.alittihad.ae/article/30472/2009/ليلى-غفران-هربت-من-سجن-روتانا-ورائحة-الرشوة-تفوح-من-الميوزك-أوورد-|url-status=dead|title=ليلى غفران: هربت من سجن "روتانا" ورائحة الرشوة تفوح من "الميوزك أوورد"|first=مركز الاتحاد|last=للأخبار|date=19 September 2009|archivedate=10 January 2020|website=مركز الاتحاد للأخبار}}

Laila said that Rotana's insistence on the album's failure shocked her, especially since she was one of the first Arab artists to join the record label in the 1990s. Laila stated that she was then surprised by Rotana's withholding of her financial dues before Rotana asked her to drop any right to file a lawsuit against them later, which Laila agreed on in order to receive her money from them.{{cite web|archive-date=24 July 2018|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180724113901/https://al-akhbar.com/Culture_People/207295|title=ليلى غفران: بَحِبّ عيشة الحرية|url=https://al-akhbar.com/Culture_People/207295}}
