=Wycombe Wanderers=

Gane was manager of Wycombe Wanderers for one season and helped relegated Wycombe achieve its best ever performance in the Isthmian League.[http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/sport/wanderers/wwfchistory/oldpictures/431194.1986__Alan_Gane/ Bucks Free Press - Alan Gane, Wycombe Wanderers] They finished top having won 32 games out of 42 and were promoted to the Conference National again. He resigned shortly before the start of the next season partly due to a changing situation at work and partly due to a dispute with the chairman over some proposed signings.{{Cite web |url=http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/sport/wanderers/wwfchistory/clubhistory/ |title=Bucks Free Press – Wycombe Wanderers Club History |access-date=1 March 2009 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20080704025352/http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/sport/wanderers/wwfchistory/clubhistory/ |archive-date=4 July 2008 |url-status=dead }}
