Mouchawar attended undergraduate of Stanford University from 1978 to 1982.{{Cite web |title=Alan Edward MOUCHAWAR |url=https://olympics.com/en/athletes/alan-edward-mouchawar |access-date=30 August 2023 |website=Olympics}} He was also on the water polo team where he won 3 national championships and was a 4 time all American. Mouchawar then went to medical school at UCSD And graduated in 1987.{{Citation needed|date=August 2023}}
After San Diego State, he did an anesthesiology residency at UC San Francisco along with a fellowship at Stanford in 1992-93.{{citation needed|date=September 2023}}
= Olympic and Professional Career =
Mouchawar was on the Us National team that won the gold medal at the 1987 Goodwill Games, as well as the gold medal at the 1987 Pan American Games.
After medical school he participated in the 1988 summer Olympics. He was on the team that won the US National team the silver medal at the 1988 Olympics.
After the Olympics he did an anesthesia residency at UCSF and an ICU fellowship at Stanford.
