Many of the design elements of the Odyssey 30 were used in the Alberg 30 of 1962.

The design is often confused with a different boat with the same name, the George Cuthbertson-designed 1987 Odyssey 30.{{cite web|url = https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/odyssey-30|title = Odyssey 30 (Aloha) sailboat specifications and details|accessdate = 11 December 2017|last= Browning| first = Randy |work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2017|archive-url= https://archive.today/20220320184656/https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/odyssey-30|archive-date= 20 March 2022|url-status= live}}
