Alberto Carpinteri (born 23 December 1952) is an Italian, now he is a chair professor of Shantou University, China.

Biography

Alberto Carpinteri is professor in science of construction, Chair Professor at the Shantou University - College of Engineering and former professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin. Carpinteri was also member of the executive committees of the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, IUTAM (2004-2012) and the Society for Experimental Mechanichs, SEM (2012-2014). He was also Editor-in-Chief of the Italian magazine "Meccanica".
