Utgoff's acting career began with a role in the film The Tourist, which he secured while still completing his final year of studies. Early life

Utgoff was born in Kyiv, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union (now Kyiv, Ukraine) to Roza, a musical conductor, and Volodymyr, a heart surgeon recognized as an honored doctor of modern-day Ukraine. In 1996, at the age of 10, he moved to London, England.

His brother, Alan, is an economist, and his parents now reside in Spain.
