The Alexander House is a Queen Anne style house built in Boise, Idaho, in 1897. The house was constructed for Moses Alexander the year he became mayor of Boise. Alexander later became governor of Idaho.{{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=72000431}}|title=National Register of Historic Places Inventory/Nomination: Alexander House |publisher=National Park Service|author=Arthur A. According to Boise Parks and Recreation, construction of the Alexander House was inspired when "the mayor’s wife, Helena, had seen a picture in the newspaper with floor plans for a two-story house with many gables. Following these guides, two carpenters managed to construct the wood-frame building."{{cite web |title=Boise Parks and Recreation: Alexander House built 1897 |url=https://parks.cityofboise.org/parks-and-facilities/parks/julia-davis-park/julia-davis-park-rotary-grand-plaza/alexander-house-built-1897/ |accessdate=August 23, 2018}} On April 10, 1897, the Coeur d'Alene Press included an illustration and a floor plan for a house similar to the Alexander House.{{cite web |title=Modern Architecture |url=https://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn88056095/1897-04-10/ed-1/seq-4.pdf |accessdate=August 23, 2018}}

The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, and in 1977 the Alexander House became the property of the State of Idaho.{{cite web |title=Idaho Architecture Project: Alexander House |url=http://idahoarchitectureproject.org/s/17/Alexander-House |accessdate=August 23, 2018}}
