Marmureanu was born in Băile Govora, Romania. In 2002, Marmureanu founded California Heart & Lung Surgery Medical Center. In January 2003, he became the medical director at the Century City Medical Center, where served until January 2004. In 2014, Marmureanu was identified by the California Department of Health Care Services as having an excessively high patient death rate for Coronary artery bypass surgery at over 18%, nearly ten times the statewide average. When asked about the report, he responded, “Patients don’t care about the report.
