Poynter designed the Torre Monumental in Retiro, Buenos Aires,{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=r1zvBgAAQBAJ&q=Ambrose+Macdonald+Poynter&pg=PA454|title=1000 Obras de Arquitectura|date=24 November 2014|publisher=Christopher E.M.
