Club career

In October 2015, Thorisson made her Damallsvenskan debut for FC Rosengård in a 3–0 home win over Umeå IK. She was an 87th-minute substitute for Marta.{{cite web|title=FC Rosengård 2 - 0 Umeå IK FF|url=http://dalsland.svenskfotboll.se/match/?scr=result&fmid=2920594|publisher=Dalslands Fotbollförbund|access-date=6 August 2016|language=Swedish|date=2 October 2015}} Thorisson was one of six youth players to be given a first-team contract by Rosengård in December 2015.{{cite news|last1=Cederlund|first1=Christer|title=Unga spelare får A-kontrakt|url=http://www.skd.se/2015/12/11/unga-spelare-far-a-kontrakt/|access-date=6 August 2016|publisher=Skånska Dagbladet|date=11 December 2015|language=Swedish}}

In search of regular first-team football, Thorisson left FC Rosengård in 2018 and signed for Kungsbacka DFF of the second-tier Elitettan. Despite helping Kungsbacka to promotion Thorisson left after one season. She joined Limhamn Bunkeflo because she wanted to live near her family in Scania and was unhappy that Kungsbacka Municipality failed to provide financial support they had promised to Kungsbacka DFF.{{cite news |last1=Holmgren |first1=Caroline |title=Avhopp och nyförvärv i KDFF |url=https://norrahalland.se/avhopp-och-nyforvarv-i-kdff/ |access-date=25 May 2019 |publisher=Norra Halland |date=17 December 2018 |language=Swedish}}

International career

When Thorisson was 12 years old she played well in a match against a touring Icelandic team. Her father told the opposition coach of her Icelandic heritage and the coach passed the information on to the Football Association of Iceland. Later Thorrison was approached to play for Iceland's youth national team through her Rosengård teammates Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir and Þóra Björg Helgadóttir. Thorrison has also trained with Sweden's youth national teams at Bosön and as of 2016 remained undecided about which national team to represent at senior level.{{cite news|last1=Laneby|first1=Sebastian|title=Framtidsklubben FC Rosengård|url=http://www.magasinetmatch.se/framtidsklubben-fc-rosengard/|access-date=6 August 2016|publisher=Magasinet Match|date=22 March 2016|language=Swedish|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160922211327/http://www.magasinetmatch.se/framtidsklubben-fc-rosengard/|archive-date=22 September 2016|url-status=dead}}

Before the men's 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Thorisson diplomatically stated that she was supporting Sweden, Iceland and Peru equally. Ultimately she decided to make herself eligible to represent Iceland at senior international level.{{cite news |last1=Löfvendahl |first1=Jonas |title=Andrea har hjärtat i tre kulturer |url=https://kungsbackaposten.se/sport/andrea-har-hjartat-i-tre-kulturer/ |access-date=25 May 2019 |publisher=Kungsbacka-Posten |date=21 June 2018 |language=Swedish |archive-date=25 May 2019 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190525095200/https://kungsbackaposten.se/sport/andrea-har-hjartat-i-tre-kulturer/ |url-status=dead }}
