Andrew Derek Lawrence (born 4 June 1990) is a British professional basketball player for the Surrey Scorchers of the British Basketball League. Born in London, Lawrence played college basketball for Charleston, being named in the all-SoCon second team for two years in a row in 2012 and 2013. He represented Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Personal

He attended St. John the Baptist secondary school (SJB) in Woking, Surrey.

College career

In Andrew's freshman season at the College of Charleston, he appeared in all thirty-four games, averaging 4.7 points per game. Andrew appeared in all thirty-six games his sophomore season, including two starts. He averaged 5.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. Andrew also led the team in total steals, with thirty-seven.

Professional career

International

Andrew represented England at the 2008 Under-18 Division B European Championship. In the tournament, Andrew averaged 12.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. He also participated in the 2009 Under-20 Division B European Championship and the 2010 Under-20 European Championship. Andrew made his first appearance for the Great Britain Men's National Team in an international test match against the Netherlands at ACS Cobham on 7 August 2011.
