Life and career

Born in 1971 to Yugoslav emigrant Nikolas Remic and British-born Sarah Ann Bragger, Andy Remic was first published in 2003 through Orbit Books with his fast-paced action SF thriller, Spiral, and has since written over twenty novels including the Clockwork Vampire Chronicles (a fantasy series), the Blood Dragon Empire grimdark fantasy novels, and A Song For No Man's Land, dark fantasy set during the First World War. His books have been translated into six languages.{{cn|date=March 2022}}

Remic previously worked as an English teacher at Counthill School and Branston Community Academy in Branston, Lincolnshire, England.{{Cite web|url=http://thelincolnite.co.uk/2015/12/lincoln-students-play-unique-part-in-nostalgic-computing-film/|title=Lincoln students play unique part in nostalgic computing film|date=11 December 2015|website=The Lincolnite|language=en-GB|access-date=5 July 2016|archive-date=17 September 2016|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160917201323/http://thelincolnite.co.uk/2015/12/lincoln-students-play-unique-part-in-nostalgic-computing-film/|url-status=live}}{{Cite web|url=http://www.lincolnshireecho.co.uk/1/story-28425128-detail/story.html|title=Lincoln school teacher films ZX Spectrum documentary with help from his pupils|date=26 December 2015|publisher=Lincolnshire Echo|access-date=5 July 2016}}

Remic wrote and directed indie films, originally for the UK-based independent film company Anarchy Films, then for RAM films, and in 2015 released his directorial debut film Impurity. Recently he made films about the iconic ZX Spectrum computer, notably [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8667412/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2 Memoirs of a Spectrum Addict], which received "Pick of the Month" in Retro Gamer Magazine, followed by [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9235592/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 Spectrum Addict: LOAD "FILM2"] in 2018.

Remic wrote a number of computer games when he was a child, including several text adventures for the ZX Spectrum in the 1980s and early 1990s. Some of these appeared on the cover-mounted cassettes that accompanied Crash magazine, and others were sold by mail order. Many of his games were produced under the name Psychaedelic Hedgehog Software.{{Cite web|url=http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekpub.cgi?regexp=^Psychaedelic+Hedgehog+Software$&loadpics=1|title=Psychaedelic Hedgehog Software games list|publisher=World of Spectrum|access-date=20 May 2017|archive-date=28 August 2018|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180828201140/http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekpub.cgi?regexp=%5EPsychaedelic+Hedgehog+Software%24&loadpics=1|url-status=live}}
