Angelarctocyon is an extinct genus of Amphicyonidae (bear dog), which belongs to the order Carnivora.

It was originally interpreted as a miacid and named Miacis australis; however, recent research has suggested it is an early amphicyonid.{{Cite journal|author1=Susumu Tomiya |author2=Zhijie Jack Tseng |year=2016 |title=Whence the beardogs? Reappraisal of the Middle to Late Eocene Miacis from Texas, USA, and the origin of Amphicyonidae (Mammalia, Carnivora) |journal=Royal Society Open Science |volume=3 |issue=10 |pages=160518 |doi=10.1098/rsos.160518 |pmc=5098994 |pmid=27853569|bibcode=2016RSOS....360518T }} Analysis of skeletal morphology suggests it is most closely related to another taxon previously attributed to Miacidae, Miacis cognitus, and the well known New World amphicyonid, Daphoenus.
