Naveed is a Roman Catholic and was elected under Pakistan's law of allotting seats to religious minorities. As member of the assembly, he has spoken out against a proposed bill that would have applicants state their religious identification before applying, arguing that it would further promote religious discrimination.{{cite web|title=ASIA/PAKISTAN - Appeal from a Catholic politician: "No" to rules and job advertisements that discriminate and dishonor religious minorities|url=http://www.fides.org/en/news/70461|publisher=Agenzia Fides|date=7 July 2021|accessdate=23 August 2021}}
