Athletics career

Following the 1996 Summer Olympics he won the 1997 World University Games 1500 metres. A second appearance at the Olympic Games ensued when he ran in the heats of the 1500 and two years later he competed in the 1500 metres once again, at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.{{cite web|url=https://thecgf.com/results/athletes/36603|title=Athletes and results|website=Commonwealth Games Federation}}
