Playing career

Slepyshev was selected first overall in the 2011 KHL Junior Draft by Metallurg Novokuznetsk. Midway through the 2012–13 season, his second in the Kontinental Hockey League, he moved from Metallurg to Salavat Yulaev Ufa. After the Oilers selected him in the third round (88th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Slepyshev remained in Russia to continue his development with Salavat.{{cite web| url = http://www.eliteprospects.com/draft_other2.php?year=2011&type=KHL%20Draft | publisher = Eliteprospects.com | title = 2011 KHL Draft | date = 2012-05-04 | accessdate = 2012-05-04}}

On 27 May 2015, the Oilers announced they had signed Slepyshev to a three-year entry-level contract.{{Cite web|url = http://oilers.nhl.com/club/blogpost.htm?id=39989|title = Oilers agree to terms with Slepyshev|date = 27 May 2015|accessdate = 27 May 2015|website = Edmonton Oilers Official Website|publisher = |last = Wescott|first = Chris}}

After his entry-level contract with the Oilers following the 2017–18 season, Slepyshev was tendered a qualifying offer to retain his rights. As a restricted free agent, Slepyshev opted not to sign with the Oilers, opting to return to Russia and sign a two-year contract with the premier club, CSKA Moscow of the KHL on July 2, 2018.{{cite web| url = http://www.cska-hockey.ru/news/Novosti_kluba/anton_slepyshev_popolnil_sostav_tsska/ | title =Антон Слепышев пополнил состав ЦСКА |trans-title=Anton Slepyshev joins CSKA Moscow | publisher = CSKA Moscow | date = 2018-07-02 | accessdate = 2018-07-02 | language = Russian}}

Following his sixth season with CSKA in 2023–24, having claimed three Gagarin Cup championships during his tenure, Slepyshev was traded by the club to HC Dynamo Moscow in exchange for prospect Ivan Patrikhayev on 23 May 2024.{{citeweb| url = https://www.dynamo.ru/news/230570-anton_slepyishev_prodoljit_kar_eru_v____dinamo__ | title = Anton Slepyshev will continue his career in Dynamo | publisher = HC Dynamo Moscow | date = 23 May 2024 | accessdate = 23 May 2024 | language = Russian }}

In October 2024, Slepyshev suspended his contract with Dynamo due to family circumstances.{{Cite web |date=2024-12-19 |title=Антон Слепышев приостановил действие контракта с московским «Динамо» - Хоккейный клуб «Динамо» Москва |url=https://www.dynamo.ru/news/230765-anton_slepyishev_priostanovil_deystvie_kontrakta_s_moskovskim___dinamo__ |access-date=2024-12-20 |website=www.dynamo.ru |language=ru}}
