Aramil ({{langx|ru|Арами́ль}}) is a town in Sysertsky District of Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, located on the Iset River (Ob's basin), {{convert|25|km|sp=us}} southeast of Yekaterinburg, the administrative center of the oblast. Population: {{ru-census|p2010=14,221|p2002=15,076|p1989=13,584}}

History

It was established in 1675 as a sloboda near the source of the Aramil River.{{citation needed|date=April 2013}} Town status was granted to it in 1966.{{cite book|title=Энциклопедия Города России|year=2003|publisher=Большая Российская Энциклопедия|location=Moscow|isbn=5-7107-7399-9|page=22}}

Administrative and municipal status

Within the framework of the administrative divisions, it is, together with two rural localities, incorporated within Sysertsky District as the Town of Aramil.Order #120-P As a municipal division, the Town of Aramil is incorporated as Aramilsky Urban Okrug.Law #85-OZ
