It was first built in 1985.{{cite web|url= https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/coco-archambault|title= Coco (Archambault) sailboat |access-date= 29 December 2020|last= McArthur| first= Bruce |work= sailboatdata.com|year= 2020|archive-url= https://archive.today/20201229181450/https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/coco-archambault|archive-date= 29 December 2020 |url-status= live}}{{cite web|url= https://sailboatdata.com/designer/harle-philippe|title= Philippe Harlé 1931 - 1991 |access-date = 29 December 2020|last= McArthur| first = Bruce |work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2020|archive-url= https://archive.today/20201229181603/https://sailboatdata.com/designer/harle-philippe|archive-date= 29 December 2020 |url-status= live}}{{cite web|url= https://sailboat.guide/archambault/coco|title= Archambault Coco|access-date= 16 April 2022|author= Sea Time Tech, LLC|work= sailboat.guide|year= 2022|archive-url= https://archive.today/20220416202654/https://sailboat.guide/archambault/coco|archive-date= 16 April 2022|url-status= live}}
Production
The design was built by Archambault Boats of Dangé-Saint-Romain, France, with 110 boats completed between 1985 and 2002, but it is now out of production. Archambault, which had been founded in 1967, went out of business in 2015.{{cite web|url = https://sailboatdata.com/builder/archambault-boats-fra|title = Archambault Boats (FRA) 1967 - 2014|access-date = 29 December 2020|last= McArthur| first = Bruce |work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2020|archive-url= https://archive.today/20201219161517/https://sailboatdata.com/builder/archambault-boats-fra|archive-date= 19 December 2020 |url-status= live}}
Design
The Coco is a racing keelboat, built predominantly of fibreglass. It has a fractional sloop rig. The hull has a plumb stem, a reverse transom, a skeg-mounted rudder controlled by a tiller and a fixed fin keel. It displaces {{convert|2535|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} and carries {{convert|992|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} of ballast.
For sailing downwind the design may be equipped with a symmetrical spinnaker of {{convert|431|sqft|m2|abbr=on}} or an asymmetrical spinnaker of {{convert|646|sqft|m2|abbr=on}}. It has a hull speed of {{convert|6.04|kn|km/h|abbr=on}}.
Operational history
The boat is supported by an active club, the Class Mini 650, that organizes racing events for Classe Mini boats with a length overall of {{convert|21.33|ft|m|abbr=on}}. The major race run for this class of sailboats is the Mini Transat 6.50, a solo transatlantic yacht race, that typically starts in France and ends in Le Marin, Martinique in the Caribbean.{{cite web|url= https://sailboatdata.com/association/class-mini-650|title= Class Mini 650|access-date = 29 December 2020|last= McArthur| first = Bruce |work = sailboatdata.com|year = 2020|archive-url= https://archive.today/20201229181716/https://sailboatdata.com/association/class-mini-650|archive-date= 29 December 2020 |url-status= live}}
