Arizona (Ringbolt) Hot Springs, also known as simply Ringbolt Hot Springs or Arizona Hot Springs, is a group of three geothermal springs located near Hoover Dam, Arizona.{{cite book |last1=Bischoff |first1=Matt C. |title=Touring Arizona Hot Springs |date=2007 |publisher=Falcon Guides, 2nd edition |isbn=978-0762736409}} They are located on the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.[https://web.archive.org/web/20201029143955/https://www.nps.gov/lake/planyourvisit/arizona-hot-spring-trail.htm nps.gov]

Water profile

The hot mineral water emerges from the spring in the upper canyon at 110 °F.{{cite web |title=Arizona Hot Springs |url=https://www.americansouthwest.net/arizona/lake_mead/arizona-hot-springs.html |website=The American Southwest |accessdate=2 March 2020}} The water then flows over a 25-foot waterfall where it is cooled to 95 °F and collects in a gravel-bottomed rock soaking pool accessible by a ladder.{{cite book |last1=Gersh-Young |first1=Marjorie |title=Hot Springs and Hot Pools in the Southwest |date=2010 |publisher=Aqua Thermal |location=Santa Cruz, California |isbn=1-890880-09-4}}

Geography

The springs are close to Willow Beach, which is downstream from the Ringbolt Rapids in White Rock Canyon in the Black Canyon of the Colorado on the Arizona side of the river downstream from Hoover Dam.{{cite web |title=Arizona Hot Springs (Ringbolt Hot Springs) |url=https://www.hikingproject.com/trail/7010986/arizona-hot-springs-ringbolt-hot-springs |website=The Hiking Project |accessdate=2 March 2020}} The area around the three main soaking pools have been stabilized with sand bags and rocks.{{cite web |last1=Weber |first1=Jesse |title=Arizona Hot Springs |url=https://www.outdoorproject.com/united-states/arizona/arizona-hot-springs |website=The Outdoor Project |accessdate=2 March 2020}}

The most popular trail to the Hot Springs begins from a parking area north of US Hwy 93, 4.2 miles east of Hoover Dam.{{Cite web |url=https://www.nps.gov/lake/planyourvisit/arizona-hot-spring-trail.htm|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20201029143955/https://www.nps.gov/lake/planyourvisit/arizona-hot-spring-trail.htm|url-status=dead|archive-date=October 29, 2020|title=Arizona Hot Spring Trail|publisher=National Park Service|access-date=22 January 2021}}

The trail is open most of the year but closed by the National Park Service in the summer due to dangers from extreme heat.{{Cite web |url=http://www.nps.gov/lake/learn/news/2016-trail-closures.htm|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20161210225314/https://www.nps.gov/lake/learn/news/2016-trail-closures.htm|url-status=dead|archive-date=December 10, 2016|title=GOLDSTRIKE CANYON, ARIZONA HOT SPRING TRAILS WILL CLOSE MAY 15-SEPT 30|publisher=National Park Service|access-date=22 January 2021}}
