The Army Combat and Fire Support Centre ({{langx|da|Hærens Kamp- og Ildstøttecenter}}), formerly Army Combat School ({{langx|da|Hærens Kampskole}}), was a training centre for the Royal Danish Army, with the purpose of developing, educating and training various forms of combat for infantry, armor, reconnaissance and fire support.{{cite web|title=Army Combat and Fire Support Centre|url=http://www2.forsvaret.dk/omos/organisation/haeren/organisation/kamp-og-ildstoettecenter/Pages/default.aspx|website=forsvaret.dk|accessdate=21 March 2016|language=Danish|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160320072946/http://www2.forsvaret.dk/omos/organisation/haeren/organisation/kamp-og-ildstoettecenter/Pages/default.aspx|archive-date=20 March 2016|url-status=dead}}
History
The centre could trace its history back to 1869, when the Shooting School was created, placed at Panterens Bastion in Christianshavn.{{cite web|title=Chief of the Army, the Infantry School|url=https://www.sa.dk/daisy/arkivskabers_arkivserier?a=Infanteriskolen&b=&c=&d=1&e=2015&f=&g=&h=&ngid=1246585&ngnid=1246588&heid=&henid=&epid=&faid=&meid=&m2rid=&side=&sort=&dir=&gsc=&int=&ep=&es=&ed=|website=sa.dk|publisher=Royal Archives|accessdate=21 March 2016|language=Danish}}{{cite web|title=Tender documents for Christian Voldgade 8|url=http://forsvaret.dk/FES/Ejendomssalg/aktuelleudbud/Documents/Udbudsmateriale%20Christianshavns%20Voldgade%208%20-%202012.pdf|website=forsvaret.dk/|publisher=Defence Estates and Infrastructure Organisation|accessdate=21 March 2016|language=Danish|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160401050757/http://forsvaret.dk/FES/Ejendomssalg/aktuelleudbud/Documents/Udbudsmateriale%20Christianshavns%20Voldgade%208%20-%202012.pdf|archive-date=1 April 2016|url-status=dead}} In 1922 it changed name to Shooting School for Handguns. In 1943 as part of Operation Safari, German forces tried to access the armory at the school, which resulted in a firefight and 3 dead Germans.{{cite web|last1=Laier|first1=Bengt|title=29 August 1943|url=http://panterensbastion.dk/Dokumenter/Skydehuset.pdf|website=panterensbastion.dk|accessdate=21 March 2016|language=Danish}}
In 1961 the school changed name to the Infantry School. On 1 March 1974, the Infantry School was amalgamated with the Infantry's Reserveofficer's School and the Armored School in Øksbøl, and was renamed Army Combat School.{{cite web|last1=Hansen|first1=R.K.|title=Army Combat Training School In Oksbøllejren|url=http://forsvaret.dk/OKSBL/Om%20Oksb%C3%B8llejren/Historie/HKS/Pages/default.aspx|website=forsvaret.dk|accessdate=21 March 2016|language=Danish}}
In 2014 due to the Danish Defence Agreement 2013-2017, the Army Combat School saw restructuring as parts of the Danish Artillery Regiment were transferred into the school, named 1st Danish Artillery Battalion. It was originally set to be named Army Combat Support Centre, however after a political and logistical discussion, parts of Army Combat Centre were transferred and it was then renamed Army Combat and Fire Support Centre.{{cite web|title=Two army centres to Varde Municipality|url=http://www.artilleriet.dk/artikel/4546vForesatte.htm|website=artilleriet.dk|accessdate=20 March 2016|language=Danish}} In 2019, as part of the Danish Defence Agreement 2018–23, the Army Combat and Fire Support Centre was closed, and its assets moved to the revived Danish Artillery Regiment.{{cite news |last1=Reintoft |first1=Henrik |title=Oberst forbereder sine ansatte på en lukning af Hærens Kamp- og Ildstøttecenter |url=https://jv.dk/artikel/oberst-forbereder-sine-ansatte-p%C3%A5-en-lukning-af-h%C3%A6rens-kamp-og-ildst%C3%B8ttecenter |accessdate=2 March 2020 |work=jv.dk |agency=JydskeVestkysten |date=20 December 2017 |language=Danish}}
