History

A post office called Arp was established in 1880, and remained in operation until 1905.{{cite web | url=http://www.postalhistory.com/postoffices.asp?state=GA | title=County | publisher=Jim Forte Postal History | accessdate=11 September 2017}} The community was named for humorist Bill Arp.
