History
The National Academy of Music and Christian Arts (ANMAC) established the Arpa Awards in 2002 for Mexico.{{Cite web|last=premiosarpacom|title=Quienes Somos – Premios ARPA|url=http://premiosarpa.org/quienes-somos/|access-date=February 23, 2021|language=es-MX}} In 2003, the ANMAC held the first ceremony in its history in World Trade Center Mexico City. The Arpa Awards recognize artistic or technical merit, not sales or popularity; winners are determined by votes from qualified Academy members.
