The Air Surveillance Radar or ASR is a 3-D solid state phased array radar, capable of detecting boats, low flying aircraft with a radar cross section (RCS) of {{convert|4|m2|abbr=on}} at a range of {{convert|5|-|110|nmi|mi km|abbr=on|0}}. The radar is jointly designed and built by the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy and the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics (Iran).

Specifications

The indigenous ASR naval radar uses a passive electronically scanned array, which can be deployed on shore or on ships, making it less vulnerable to anti-radar missiles that use radar signals to home in on their target.{{cite book|last1=tasnimnews|title=Three "three-dimensional" of Iran / monitor enemy movements with advanced radars + Pictures|url=http://www.tasnimnews.com/fa/news/1394/08/05/899210/%D8%B3%D9%87-%DA%AF%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%87-quot-%D8%B3%D9%87-%D8%A8%D9%8F%D8%B9%D8%AF%DB%8C-quot-%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86-%D8%B1%D8%B5%D8%AF-%D8%AA%D8%AD%D8%B1%DA%A9%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D8%AF%D8%B4%D9%85%D9%86-%D8%A8%D8%A7-%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%87%D8%A7%DB%8C-%D9%BE%DB%8C%D8%B4%D8%B1%D9%81%D8%AA%D9%87-%D8%AA%D8%B5%D8%A7%D9%88%DB%8C%D8%B1}}{{cite book|last1=farsnews|title=Phased array radar test "epoch" in the Gulf of Aden + Pictures|url=http://www.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=13931013000918}}{{cite book|last1=TruthSeeker|title=Iran's Navy Unveils New Radar System|url=http://www.thetruthseeker.co.uk/?p=85297}}
