Asymbolus funebris, or the Australian blotched catshark, is a species of shark belonging to the family Pentanchidae, the deepwater catsharks.{{FishBase species | genus = Asymbolus | species = funebris | month = July | year = 2006}} The only specimen, the holotype, being found off Western Australia at {{cvt|144|m}}. Its length is {{cvt|44|cm}} and its reproduction is oviparous.
