Atractus modestus is a species of snake in the family Colubridae.{{eol|453776|Modest Ground Snake}} In English the species goes by the common name modest ground snake while in Spanish it goes by tierrera modesta or culebra tierrera modesta.
Males can grow to {{convert|27.3|cm|in|1|abbr=on}} and females to {{convert|32.8|cm|in|1|abbr=on}} in snout–vent length. The species reproduces sexually. The species has been labeled as vulnerable by the IUCN.
