Auroremys is an extinct genus of Palaeogene rodents belonging to the theridomorph family Pseudosciuridae. The type and only species Auroremys subita was first named by Bernard Comte et al. in 2012 as belonging to the ischyromyid genus Ailuravus before it was eventually reclassified to its own genus by French palaeontologists Monique Vianey-Liaud and Laurent Marivaux in 2021.{{cite journal|last1=Monique|first1=Vianey-Liaud|last2=Marivaux|first2=Laurent|year=2021|title=The beginning of the adaptive radiation of Theridomorpha (Rodentia) in Western Europe: morphological and phylogenetic analyses of early and middle Eocene taxa; implications for systematics|journal=Palaeovertebrata|volume=44|doi=10.18563/pv.44.2.e2}}{{cite journal|last1=Comte|first1=Bernard|last2=Sabatier|first2=Maurice|last3=Vianey-Liaud|first3=Monique|year=2012|title=Les rongeurs de Chéry-Chartreuve et Rocourt-Saint-Martin (est du bassin de Paris; Aisne, France). Several other rodent genera are recorded from the type locality of Chéry-Chartreuve along with Auroremys such as the glirid Glamys and theridomyoids (Protadelomys, Tardenomys, and Elfomys).{{cite journal|last1=Bonilla-Salomón|first1=Isaac|last2=Minwer-Barakat|first2=Raef|last3=Vianey-Liaud|first3=Monique|last4=Moyà-Solà|first4=Salvador|year=2016|title=Middle Eocene Rodents from Sant Jaume De Frontanyà (Eastern Pyrenees, Northern Spain) and Biochronological Implications|journal=Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology|volume=36|issue=4|doi=10.1080/02724634.2016.1121149}}
