The Azure Swimming Pool ({{langx|uk|Басейн Лазурний}}) is one of the indoor swimming pools in the abandoned city of Pripyat,{{cite web|url=http://chernobylgallery.com/galleries/swimming-pool-azure/|title=Swimming Pool Azure|work=The Chernobyl Gallery|date=21 February 2014 |access-date=17 April 2016}}{{cite web|title=site|url=https://thehomebeasts.com/|access-date=16 May 2016|work=The Chernobyl Gallery}} Ukraine, which was affected by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
History
The complex was built in the 1970s and remained in use until 1998 (12 years after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster); during those 12 years the swimming pool was mainly used by Chernobyl liquidators.{{cite web|url=http://postalovsky-a.livejournal.com/152811.html|title=Припятское: плавательный бассейн в мертвом городе|work=livejournal.com|date=7 August 2014 |access-date=17 April 2016}} The swimming pool was considered to be one of the cleanest places in Pripyat.{{cite web|url=http://beshenij-yozhik.livejournal.com/470950.html |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170823043143/http://beshenij-yozhik.livejournal.com/470950.html |url-status=dead |archive-date=23 August 2017 |title=Припять: бассейн "Лазурный" |work=livejournal.com |access-date=17 April 2016 }} However, the swimming pool and the adjacent indoor basketball court have been abandoned and left to decay since its closure in 1998.
