History

{{Expand section|date=July 2022}}

Founded in 1998, the Bonifacio Transport Corporation was established under the Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation (FBDC). It was formed through an initial fleet of 24 buses — 10 of which are Mercedes-Benz buses and the rest are a mix of Daewoo, and Nissan Diesel units — as an intercity transport system to and from the adjacent business districts of Bonifacio Global City and Ayala Center.{{cite web |author=Ni Madam Rosa |url=http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleid=494201 |archive-url=https://archive.today/20120909083430/http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleid=494201 |url-status=dead |archive-date=2012-09-09 |title=Bonifacio Global City: Built with character, designed with soul |publisher=Philstar.com |date=2009-08-10 |access-date=2013-09-14 }}{{cite web|url=http://megaworldglobalcity.wordpress.com/2011/02/16/bonifacio-global-city-a-city-that-works/ |title=Megaworld properties at Fort Bonifacio Global City |publisher=Megaworldglobalcity.wordpress.com |date=2011-02-16 |access-date=2013-09-14}}

In 2008, six Mercedes-Benz O500M 1725 buses were deployed by FBDC, followed by an additional 14 buses to keep up with passenger demand.{{cite web |url=http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=55940 |archive-url=https://archive.today/20120907180904/http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=55940 |url-status=dead |archive-date=2012-09-07 |title=Shuttle's best |publisher=Philstar.com |date=2008-04-14 |access-date=2013-09-14 }}{{cite web|author=premierpropertyspecialist |url=http://ayalaupdates.wordpress.com/2008/08/18/mercedes-benz-shuttle-coaches-inside-bonifacio-global-city/ |title=Mercedes-Benz shuttle coaches inside Bonifacio Global City |date=August 18, 2008 |publisher=Ayalaupdates.wordpress.com |access-date=2013-09-14}}{{cite web|url=http://findarticles.com/p/news-articles/manila-bulletin/mi_7968/is_2008_March_4/mercedes-benz-shuttle-coaches-bonifacio/ai_n34950981/ |title=Mercedes-Benz shuttle coaches inside Bonifacio Global City |publisher=Findarticles.com |access-date=2013-09-14}} In the same year, HM Transport Inc. and the Bonifacio Transport Corporation signed an agreement, allowing the use of HM Transport buses to serve routes to and from Bonifacio Global City. In 2016, the BGC Bus replaced its TapBGC contactless smart card with AF Payments Inc.'s Beep card. A limited public trial was conducted from June 11 to 26, and was fully rolled out on June 27, 2016.

In 2024, BGC Bus route was extended to Gil Puyat station in Pasay which began on May 20, initially operating only on weekday mornings.{{cite web|url=https://www.topgear.com.ph/news/motoring-news/bgc-bus-lrt-gil-puyat-route-a2619-20240521|title=The BGC Bus now has an LRT Gil Puyat route|date=May 21, 2024|website=TopGear}}{{cite news|url=https://www.spot.ph/newsfeatures/mobility/108978/bgc-bus-new-route-to-lrt-1-gil-puyat-a5229-20240521?s=dk1l5uaqfvbf0rt68r7fuc0nh2|title=BGC Bus Has a New Route to LRT-1 Gil Puyat|date=May 21, 2024|first=Micah Avry|last=Guiao|accessdate=August 23, 2024|website=Spot.ph}}
