Babble Royale is an upcoming free-to-play battle royale video game developed by James Lantz and Frank Lantz of Everybody House Games. It was released for Windows and macOS in early access on December 15, 2021, via Steam.
Gameplay
The game's map is built similarly to a Scrabble board with up to 16 players starting out with a single tile. Each player uses their tile to spell out words to move across the board and attack other players. Players can eliminate each other by connecting their words to opponents, and a "hot zone" closes in to shrink the board, dealing damage to players within.{{Cite news|last=Williams|first=Hayley|date=December 15, 2021|title=Meet The Word-Based Battle Royale You Never Knew You Needed|work=GameSpot|url=https://www.gamespot.com/articles/meet-the-word-based-battle-royale-you-never-knew-you-needed/1100-6499040/|access-date=December 18, 2021}}{{Cite news|last=Carpenter|first=Nicole|date=December 16, 2021|title=A battle royale where you fight to the death with words, not bullets|work=Polygon|url=https://www.polygon.com/22839555/battle-babble-royale-scrabble-steam|access-date=December 18, 2021}}{{Cite news|last=Gartenberg|first=Chaim|date=December 16, 2021|title=Babble Royale turns Scrabble into Fortnite|work=The Verge|url=https://www.theverge.com/2021/12/16/22839745/babble-royale-scrabble-fortnite|access-date=December 18, 2021}}{{Cite news|last=Livingston|first=Christopher|date=December 15, 2021|title=Someone mixed Scrabble with battle royale, and by god it works|work=PC Gamer|url=https://www.pcgamer.com/someone-mixed-scrabble-with-battle-royale-and-by-god-it-works/|access-date=December 18, 2021}}
