Bae Heung-rip ({{korean|배흥립|裵興立|context=old}}; November 7, 1546 – October 17, 1608) was a Korean military official of the mid-Joseon Period. He was a general under Admiral Yi Sun-sin during the Imjin War.

Life

Bae Heung-rip was born on November 7, 1546. When the Japanese Invasion of Korea broke out in 1592, he was appointed as the Assistant Defense Commandant ({{Korean|hangul=조방장|hanja=助防將|labels=no}}) and also served as a Defense Commander ({{Korean|hangul=방어사|hanja=防禦使|labels=no}}). In 1597, when the Japanese second invasion broke out, he participated in the Battle of Chilcheollyang under the command of Won Gyun, the Naval Generalissimo of the Three Provinces ({{Korean|hangul=삼도수군통제사|hanja=三道水軍統制使|labels=no}}).
