Bakhtiari dialect is a dialect of the Luri language spoken by Bakhtiari people in Chaharmahal-o-Bakhtiari, Bushehr, eastern Khuzestan and parts of Isfahan and Lorestan provinces.{{cite book |author1=Erik Anonby|author2=Mortaza Taheri-Ardali|editor1=Geoffrey Haig|editor2=Geoffrey Khan|title=The Languages and Linguistics of Western Asia|year=2016|publisher=De Gruyter Mouton|location=Berlin; Boston|isbn=978-3-11-042608-3|chapter-url=https://doi.org/10.1515/9783110421682-014 |chapter=Bakhtiari|doi=10.1515/9783110421682-014 }} It is closely related to the Boir-Ahamadi, Kohgiluyeh, and Mamasani dialects in northwestern Fars. These dialects, together with the Luri dialects of Lorestan (e.g. Khorramabadi dialect), are referred to as the "Perside" southern Zagros group, or Lori dialects. Luri and Bakhtiari are much more closely related to Persian than Luri."Limbert, John: Journal of Iranian Studies Vol. 1, No. 2 at p. 47 (1968) "The Origin and Appearance of Kurds in Pre-Islamic Iran." Dialects of Persian spoken in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province are mutually intelligible with Bakhtiari.
