Baligubadle is a town in the southern Maroodi Jeex region of Somaliland.{{Cite web|url=http://wardheernews.com/Articles_2010/June/Buh/29_Somaliland_recognition_&_the_HBM-SSC_Factor.html|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120528122058/http://wardheernews.com/Articles_2010/June/Buh/29_Somaliland_recognition_%26_the_HBM-SSC_Factor.html|url-status=dead|title=Somaliland’s Quest for International Recognition and the HBM-SSC Factor|archivedate=May 28, 2012}} The locality serves as the capital of the Baligubadle District, an administrative subdivision of the Maroodi Jeex region that was created in 1991 after regaining Somaliland independence,The district status of Baligubadle is legally enshrined in Art. 10.1) of the [http://www.somalilandlaw.com/Xeerka__wkb__Gobolada_iyo_Degmooyinka_2019SLLaw.pdf (Somaliland) Regions and Districts Self-management Law, No. 23/2019]. This law also does not mention "Hawd" as a region in Somaliland, and the earlier presidential decree creating "Hawd" has thus not been confirmed by law and must be considered as invalid. and straddles the border with the Somali Region of Ethiopia.

The town of Baligubadle served as the administrative headquarters of the SNM{{Cite book|last1=Connaughton|first1=Stacey L.|url={{GBurl|id=46elDwAAQBAJ|q=baligubadle snm capital|p=84}}|title=Locally Led Peacebuilding: Global Case Studies|last2=Berns|first2=Jessica|date=2019-09-09|publisher=Rowman & Littlefield|isbn=978-1-5381-1411-7|language=en}} and played a crucial role in the formation of modern-day Somaliland.

== Demographics==

Governance

Education
