Barbarellas (previously known as Ms. Lynch) were an Irish pop duo, consisting of twins Edele and Keavy Lynch (born 15 December 1979), former members of pop girl group B*Witched. The duo were signed to Ceol Music, and released their debut album Night Mode in 2011.
History
After B*Witched split, in 2002, Edele worked as a songwriter with the Xenomania production team, co-writing tracks for Girls Aloud and Sugababes, while Keavy established an Irish music production company called Ziiiing.{{Cite web|url=http://uk.news.yahoo.com/10082006/364/b-witched-singer-weds.html|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20060831195444/http://uk.news.yahoo.com/10082006/364/b-witched-singer-weds.html|url-status=dead|title=B*Witched singer weds|archivedate=31 August 2006}}{{Cite web|url=https://people.com/parents/|title=Parents|website=People.com}} From 2006 through 2009, Lynch twins performed live in festivals and night clubs as Ms. Lynch, as well as posted several demos on their MySpace page.
In 2010 they renamed the duo as Barbarellas and, on 19 January 2011, the duo's debut single "Body Rock" was released, produced by Yoad Nevo, and remixed by Manhattan Clique and Riffs&Rays. Popjustice called the song "basically a completely amazing chorus with some slightly less amazing other stuff thrown in".{{Cite web|url=https://www.popjustice.com/briefing/well-shine-together-under-the-name-barbarellas-ella-ella-oh-dear-this-headline-doesnt-really-work/|title=We'll shine together under the name Barbarellas ella ella oh dear this headline doesn't really work |website=Popjustice.com|date=30 November 2011}} Their second single, "Night Mode" (originally titled "Diet Coke"), was released on 10 April 2011 to a mixed reaction from fans, who criticised the change from "Diet Coke" to "Night Mode". The duo's debut album Night Mode was released on 17 April 2011 to a mixed reception from critics, and like the singles, did not appear in the Top 100. The duo ended in October 2012 when it was announced that B*Witched would reunite.{{cite news|url=http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a431534/atomic-kitten-5ive-bwitched-911-more-to-reunite-for-itv2-show.html|title=Atomic Kitten, 5ive, B*Witched, 911, more to reunite for ITV2 show|last=Goodacre|first=Kate|publisher=Digital Spy|date=26 April 2013|accessdate=18 October 2012}}{{cite news|url=http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2012-10-18/atomic-kitten-5ive-and-bwitched-to-reform-for-itv2s-the-big-reunion|title=Atomic Kitten, 5ive and B*Witched to reform for ITV2's The Big Reunion|last=Lazarus|first=Susanna|date=18 October 2012|work=Radio Times|accessdate=26 April 2013}}
