Barry Thomas Pickering {{post-nominals|country=NZL|MNZM|size=85%}} (born 12 December 1956) is a retired association football player who was successful in representing New Zealand internationally, being part of the 1982 squad that participated at 1982 FIFA World Cup finals where he was the third choice goalkeeper behind Frank van Hattum and Richard Wilson.[http://www.nzsoccer.com/page/1982_world_cup_team.html NZ 1982 World Cup] {{webarchive |url=https://web.archive.org/web/20081212000233/http://www.nzsoccer.com/page/1982_world_cup_team.html |date=12 December 2008 }}
Pickering made his full All Whites international debut in a 2-0 win over Singapore on 1 October 1978,{{cite web|url=http://www.ultimatenzsoccer.com/NZRepSoccer/id1559.htm|title=A-International Lineups|author=|publisher=The Ultimate New Zealand Soccer Website|date=|accessdate=12 February 2009}} and was a member of the squad that qualified for the 1982 FIFA World Cup finals in Spain but did not make the field in Spain.
