Basil Doerhofer built a house next door for his son, Peter C. Doerhoefer, in 1918. That also was NRHP-listed, in 1983, as the Peter C. Doerhoefer House.
Prior to moving to the Basil Doerhoefer House on Broadway the Doerhoefers lived in the Doerhoefer-Hampton House at 2422 West Chestnut Street in Louisville.{{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=79001002}}|title=National Register of Historic Places Inventory-Nomination: Doerhoefer-Hampton House |publisher=National Park Service|author=M.A. Allgeier |date=March 12, 1978 |access-date=December 30, 2022}} With {{NRHP url |id=79001002|photos=y|title=accompanying eight photos from 1979}}
In 1981 the house was owned by "Christ Temple Apostolic Church, Inc." and signage at the house in 2022 suggests it still is.Google Streetview imagery dated October 2022, accessed December 30, 2022. It is presumably associated with the Christ Temple Christian Life Center, whose main building (perhaps the original Loretto High School) is around the corner at 723 S. 45th St.{{cite web|url=https://www.facebook.com/ChristTempleChristianLC/ |title=Christ Temple Christian Life Center |website=Facebook |access-date=December 30, 2022}}
