History
The library was established in 1938, encouraged by the Kiwanis Club. The city took over operations in 1940. In 1958, the library moved into its first new facility, located at 5th Street and Hall Boulevard. It moved to Hall Street Station in 1980, then to a former Albertson's grocery store at Allen and Hall Boulevards in 1984.{{cite web|title=Beaverton City Library|url=https://www.wccls.org/libraries/beaverton|publisher=Washington County Cooperative Library Services|accessdate=September 9, 2015|archive-date=September 5, 2015|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150905063527/http://www.wccls.org/libraries/beaverton|url-status=live}} The 1984 move increased the library's space from {{convert|9400|ft2|m2}} to {{convert|23000|ft2|m2}}.{{cite news |last1=Olmos |first1=Bob|title=Budget allocates funds to buy library building |work=The Oregonian |date=April 17, 1984 |edition=West Metro |page=8MW}} In 1985, it was the largest library in Washington County.{{cite news |last=Bodine |first=Harry |title=County libraries banking on new levy |work=The Oregonian |date=June 20, 1985 |edition=West Metro |page=MW1}}
